Terms of Service for SnapCal

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SnapCal ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

SnapCal is an AI-powered calorie tracking application that allows users to:

Take photos of food to receive estimated nutritional information
Track daily calorie and macronutrient intake
Set and monitor personalized nutrition goals
View progress and trends over time

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use SnapCal. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Account Registration

To use the App, you must create an account using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and all activities under it.

5. Data Collection

By using SnapCal, you consent to the collection of:

Contact Info: Name and email address (linked to your identity)
Health & Fitness: Height, weight, age, gender, activity level (linked to your identity)
User Content: Photos of food you take (linked to your identity)
Identifiers: User ID (linked), Device ID (not linked)
Diagnostics: Crash data (not linked to your identity)

This data is used for app functionality and is NOT used for tracking. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Subscription Terms

6.1 Subscription Plans

6.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account
Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled 24+ hours before period end
Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before current period ends

6.3 Cancellation

Cancel anytime through App Store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial periods.

7. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Important

SnapCal uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to analyze food images. Nutritional estimates are approximations only and may not be accurate.

AI analysis may produce incorrect results
This is NOT medical or dietary advice
Consult healthcare professionals for personalized guidance
You use nutritional estimates at your own risk

8. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Use the App for illegal purposes
Upload inappropriate or harmful content
Attempt to reverse engineer or hack the App
Interfere with the App's operation
Share your account credentials

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of SnapCal are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws.

10. User Content

You retain ownership of photos you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to process it for providing the service. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

11. Privacy

Your use of SnapCal is governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

12. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY OF AI-GENERATED CONTENT.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR DAMAGES FROM RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

15. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at our discretion for conduct that violates these Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
